You may exchange your gas bottle(s) for a replacement within the same exchange group without incurring any charges for a new Cylinder Refill Agreement. In need of a new bottle? We have ample stock available! You can either exchange or purchase a new bottle at our Calor Gas Centre in Newport.
When you buy a gas bottle for the first time, you'll also purchase a CRA. It's an agreement for the bottle, which means you'll be able to swap your bottle, (exchange group depending), when it becomes empty. You'll just need to pay for the gas.
Even though we call it a refill, you’ll be getting a full bottle in exchange for your empty cylinder. We take your empty cylinders; safety check them and refurbish them so they can be reused – we like to cut down on waste!
Gas bottles are split into different groups; meaning each group has its own CRA charge. See the charges below for each exchange group.
Is the bottle you're looking to swap in the same group? For example, if you had a 4.5kg butane bottle and wanted to exchange it for a 7kg butane bottle, you’re good to go with your current CRA.
But, if you’re swapping from a 4.5kg Butane bottle to a 13kg Propane bottle, you’ll need to purchase a new CRA because it’s in a different exchange group.
You may return your bottle in good condition to Calor, along with proof of your CRA. You’ll be entitled to a percentage of the refill agreement charge depending on how long you’ve had the refill agreement.
